PHP, databases and email on web hosting
What your web hosting plan runs, and where to find the details your site's code needs.
PHP
Your plan runs PHP 8.4. The version is set by the plan; there is no
setting to choose a different one. Your home page can be index.php.
If you deploy your site from a Git repository, PHP is switched off for the site while the repository is connected. See Upload your website.
Your database
Each site comes with one MySQL database, created for you. Its details are in the Your database panel on your site's page in Web Hosting:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Host | localhost |
| Database | shown on the page |
| Username | shown on the page |
| Password | shown on the page |
Use localhost as the host in your site's code, for example in WordPress's
wp-config.php. The database does not accept connections from outside the
server, so you cannot connect to it directly from your own computer.
If the page says the password is not available, ask us and we will reset it.
Web hosting does not include email. Mailboxes for your domain need to be hosted somewhere else.
Disk space
Your site's page shows how much of your storage allowance you are using. If you go over it, your site keeps working and the page tells you; to move to a bigger allowance, ask us.
