Buckets, public files and your storage allowance

A bucket is a named container for your files. Manage them on Object Storage, or with any S3 tool once you have an access key.

Create a bucket

Under Create a bucket, enter a name and choose Create bucket. Names follow the same rules as Amazon S3:

  • 3 to 63 characters
  • lower-case letters, digits, dots and hyphens
  • not shaped like an IP address

You can have up to 100 buckets on your account.

Look inside a bucket

Choose a bucket's name to see its files, 100 at a time, and filter them by the start of their name. You can delete a file from there.

The page does not upload or download files. Use an S3 tool, such as rclone, Cyberduck or the AWS CLI, for that.

Delete a bucket

A bucket must be empty before it can be deleted. Delete its files first, then choose Delete next to the bucket.

Public or private

Buckets are private: only your access keys can read them. Make public lets anyone read and list every file in that bucket, without a key, and search engines may find them. Only do this for files you mean to publish. Make private turns it off again. The setting is for the whole bucket; there are no per-file permissions.

Your allowance

Your plan is an allowance for your whole account, shared between all your buckets. The Usage section shows how much you are using. The totals can be a few seconds behind, so a file you have just uploaded may not be counted yet.

To change to a different size, ask us. You can have one object storage plan per account.
